Dogs and disease risk involving people.

Some of our clients have asked questions about what we know about domestic animals in light of the news surrounding the recent Ebola virus situation in Dallas

This is a zoonotic disease that affects bats and primates.  Dogs that are exposed can develop antibodies to the disease, but do not appear to get it so far.  Transmission from dogs to humans has not been documented in previous or current outbreaks.

Nobody knows the answers to all questions involving animals and this virus, especially from pets in close human contact.  The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) states that the transmission risk involving humans and dogs is very low.  You can read more here.
